Salina, KS, Goes Global
The Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer recently took off a few hours from here, in Salina, Kansas. Salina was chosen for its massive, 2 1/2 mile long runway. The plane needed most of this runway just to take off since it was heavily burdened with fuel for its global round trip sans refueling. Look here if you're wondering where the plane, and its one man crew are at currently. They expect the trip to be completed by sometime Thursday.
